Extension
The Manual of Classification is used to classify research, education, and extension activities in the Research, Education, and Extension Project Online Reporting Tool (REEport)
and the NIFA Reporting System (NRS). The classification codes are also used for retrieval purposes in the Current Research Information System
and the NIFA Data Gateway. In October, 2005, Research Problem Area (RPA) was renamed Knowledge Area (KA) and the category was expanded to include additional areas of research, education, and extension. You can download the current version of the Manual (IX) as well as the previous versions (VIII, VII, VI, V). The PDF format requires the
